Demonstration only
The FWO allows an unpaid trial only to demonstrate skills needed for the job, under direct supervision the whole time.

One hour to one shift
Anything beyond what’s reasonably needed must be paid at the minimum rate. To assess further, the FWO suggests employing the person as a casual or on probation.

Screening comes first
Aged care, NDIS and child-related work carry screening requirements that can apply before a person starts.
